Q: I have a rattling noise coming from up under my 1992 Chevy Suburban 2wd, has anyone experienced similar?
The noise is coming from sorta in the middle of the driver's & passenger seats. It rattles for the most part while in drive for a moment & stops when the truck is placed in park or neutral. It seems as if its causing me to lose power or acceleration.
A: i own a repair shop, and it could be the catalytic converter going bad on it that's causing this,it will rattle ,and cause a noticeable amount of power lose on it,,you might want to get that checked,it can damage the engine if you run it like that, good luck,i hope this help,s.
Q: 1992 chevy suburban?
how long does it take to clean out carbon buildup out of throttle body of 1992 chevy suburban
A: About 3 hours if you remove it. You can just spray carb cleaner into without removing it.
Fig. 1: Tag and disconnect the vacuum lines from the throttle body
Fig. 2: Tag and unplug all electrical connections from the throttle body
Fig. 3: A pair of needlenose pliers can be used to disconnect the linkages from the throttle body assembly
Fig. 4: A flare nut wrench can be used to disconnect the fuel lines. Make sure the wrench fits snugly on the fuel line nut, so as not to round off the nut edges
Release the fuel pressure. Refer to the fuel relief procedure in this section.
Disconnect the THERMAC hose from the engine fitting and remove the air cleaner.
Unplug the electrical connectors at the idle air control, throttle position sensor and the injector. Squeeze the plastic tabs on the injector connections and pull straight up.
Disconnect the grommet with wires from the throttle body.
Disconnect the throttle linkage, return spring, transmission control cable and cruise control (if equipped).
Unplug the throttle body vacuum hoses, the fuel supply and fuel return lines.
Disconnect the bolts securing the throttle body, then remove it.
Fig. 5: A ratchet and the correct size socket can be used to remove the bolts securing the throttle body to the intake manifold

To install:
Replace the manifold gaskets and O-rings.
Install the TBI unit and tighten the bolts to 12 ft. lbs. (16 Nm).
Install new O-rings into the fuel line nuts and then screw them on by hand. Tighten them to 20 ft. lbs. (26 Nm).
Connect the vacuum hoses and bracket.
Connect the throttle linkage, transmission control cable, return springs and cruise control cable.
Install the grommet (with harness connected) to the TBI.
Attach all electrical leads. Press the accelerator pedal to the floor and make sure that it releases properly.
Turn the ignition switch ON (but don't start the engine!) and check for leaks around the fuel line nuts.
Install the air cleaner and start the engine-check for leaks.
ADJUSTMENT
See Figure 7
Only if parts of the throttle body have been replaced should this procedure be performed; the engine should be at operating temperature.
Remove the air cleaner, adapter and gaskets. Discard the gaskets. Plug any vacuum line ports, as necessary.
Leave the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve connected and ground the Assembly Link Diagnostic (ALDL) connector terminal.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, do not start the engine. Wait for at least 30 seconds (this allows the IAC valve pintle to extend and seat in the throttle body).
With the ignition switch still in the ON position, unplug the IAC electrical connector.
Fig. 7: Use a suitable tool to remove the idle stop screw plug to access the screw
Remove the ground from the diagnostic terminal and start the engine. Let the engine reach normal operating temperature.
Apply the parking brake and block the drive wheels. Remove the plug from the idle stop screw by piercing it first with a suitable tool, then applying leverage to the tool to lift the plug out.
Adjust the idle stop screw to the proper specifications
Turn the ignition OFF and reconnect the IAC valve connector. Unplug any plugged vacuum line ports and install the air cleaner, adapter and new gaskets.
Q: location of fuel filter on 1992 Chevy Suburban 5.7L V8?
I need to change filte but cannot find my Haynes manual thought this would be the quickest. Filter is first step in finding why car stalled and will not restart, battery is fine does not seem to get gas I have tryed flooding the engine and cannot even get a gasoline smell.
A: on most GM's of that year model they're usually on the drivers side under the car along the frame towards the rear near the tank
good luck
Q: 1992 chevy suburban won't go in reverse.350 engine,front wheel drive?
will go in drive but not reverse
A: sounds like the transmission is starting to go,make sure transmission fluid is full. 92 suburbans were rear wheel drive or 4 wheel drive.
Q: Anyone know a cheap place to get a rear end rebuilt or serviced on a chevy 1500 in houston tx?
im considering buying a 1992 chevy suburban 5.7 liter 350 for $1,700 body is very clean inside interior is not that great car runs good but needs rear end work and a steering column. i feel this is a excellent deal do any body agree or dissagree. should i let this oppurtunity pass me by.
This car is for sale at a dealership and they have all the paperwork
A: Two words come to mind, stolen, and or water damaged. Most likely water damaged, I say wait for a better deal.
Q: How hard is it to replace a rear ABS sensor on a Chevy Suburban?
It is a 1992, Transmission mounted sensor
A: if your sure thats the problem' its not hard to replace.
its located at the rear of the trans and just bolts on' i think it takes either a 10mm or 8mm socket to remove the bolt and then just pop it out and install the new part, you may lose a little fluid but not much. if your not sure what sensor it is just look at the new part and get an idea. hope this helped'
Q: Chevy SUBURBAN!!!?
I want the biggest size 1992-1999 Suburban.
The Full Size one.
Is the 2500 the bigger one then the 1500.
whats the longest sized one?
A: no difference in size, 2500 is usually a little taller due to heavy duty suspension and bigger wheels/tires. But length and cargo capacity is the same 92-99 had 5.7, 7.4 and after 93 6.5 (diesel). The long wheelbase is a Suburban, anything shorter is a Tahoe.
The Duramax was not available until 01, and is still not a Suburban option. Nor was there ever a 3500 Suburban.
If you don't need to tow over 5000lbs stick with the 1500, a little cheaper to operate.
Q: does a car over heat if you have a blown head gasket?
i have white smoke and condensation in my tail pipe of my 1992 chevy suburban and someone has told me this is norm when it is cold out side is this true or do i have a problem?
A: When a vehicle is cold that is very common but should stop when the vehicle has had time to warm up. If the head gasket is blown you would have smoke from under the hood. Not necessarily a lot of smoke maybe even not noticeable. The motor would smell burnt when you immediately turn the vehicle off and sooner before later your motor will lock up and your car will shut off leaving you wherever that may be at the time. Overheating is a very good sign. Be smart and look for signs other than the obvious. Vibrations, hard to manuveur, smoke under hood, odd smell under hood..etc. If the smoke doesn't go away in about 20-30 minutes (after the car has been started) then you should go to a mechanic and have it checked just to be safe.

Q: Oil pressure for 350?
Just wondering what the gage should read, its in a 1992 chevy suburban with 230,000KM on it, 350TBI obviously. If u know please tell me its sitting just above 100KPA. I'll convert PSI to KPA if u only know PSI.
Thanks
A: Min hot oil pressure is 10 psi per 1,000 RPM
I want to see atleast 10 psi at idle and then 10 psi per 1,000 rpm after that.
4000 rpm, then atleast 40 psi oil pressure
