I HAVE A 1995 CHEVY SUBURBAN 3/4 WITH A 6.5 LITER DISEL ENGINE. I HAVE THE THIRD SEAT IN THE REAR WHICH IS EQUPIED WITH QUICK RELEASE. I AM WANTING TO TURN THIS BACK SEAT AROUND SO THAT THE KIDS COULD GET IN AND OUT THRU THE REAR DOORS WITHOUT HAVEING TO CLIMB OVER THE SEATS. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRICIATED.

A: As John S said, the floor fittings won't allow the seat to be turned around. Furthermore, the seat belts would not work properly either. It's really not a good idea overall.

Q: 1995 Chevy Suburban will crank but not run, Help?
I have a 1995 Chevy Suburban K1500 with a 350 ci. It will crank when its cold and rough idle, it then begins to smoke dark gray and acts like its flooding out. I can rev up the engine and make it run untill it gets hot, but it begins to run rougher and rougher and smokes worse. I am getting gas and the spark seems to be good, what else can I check? I have replaced the distributor, rotor button, spark plugs, wires, and fuel filter. I don't know what to do next...

I had a radio installed and needed to replace all the speakers. My front and far rear (4x10s) were replaced, but he couldn't get the rear door speakers to work, I guess I need to replace the amp, but need to find it first.

Q: Help with 1995 Chevy Suburban Audio Wiring?
1995 chevy suburban I was putting a Cd play in for my sister. Put a wireharness on with 13 wires. Factory harness has 16 (found out one is for illumination) which leaves me with 2 more wires. Problem is I got front and back speakres working. Middle speakers are not hooked up.. the two wires left over are dark green with a black stirpe on one. Im thinking these are the speaker wires.. but is it possible for BOTH middle speakers to be on one single line? I don't wnat to go cutting the factory harness if I Don't have to but they want the middle speakers working> I really think there it but why would both speakers be on only 1 set of wires?

A: Those are definitely speaker wires, but they are for one speaker only. Do NOT cut off the factory harness, you can get a harness that plugs directly in to it from here - http://www.metraonline.com If you've "been there, done that", a wire chart should have came with the harness. You can go here http://www.installdr.com for wire color codes (if they have your vehicle).

Q: I have a 1995 Chevy suburban, it won't start in the mornings but it does at the middle of the day...?
I have the starter, the alternator and the battery checked and they all work. There is not a "check the engine light" so I don't not what else to do?

A: What is different in your area of the world in the morning than in the afternoon? Is it substantially cooler? Is the humidity higher? It could be a weak spot in the ignition system. If morning dew levels are high in your area, it may cause a short that goes away as the air gets dryer. There are two ways to check this. One is to spray "wire dryer" spray on the ignition wires when it won't start. If after spraying the wires the engine starts, you now know it is moisture. The other way is to start the engine when it does start and spray a mist of water from a spray bottle on the wire and see if the engine starts to run rough or if it stops. If this works you need to get the ignition wires replaced, or the distributor cap or the coil whatever is leaking electricity when it is damp. .

A: could be a vacume line or the shift cylenoid. Look for rubber hoses coming off the tranny and see if they are cracked or disconnected. If its the cylenoid I think that is inside the tranny pan on your vehicle.

Will a PCV Valve: Crankcase Depression Regulator cause the vehicle to die if its plugged up? When I plug mine into the valve cover I can not keep my truck running. I unplug it and truck runs fine. Was thinking of getting a rubber hose and running it out to bottom of engine so that it can vent like a semi-truck does. ANY SUGGESTIONS or COMMENTS?

A: I have a friend with a diesel suburban also and he just ran a rubber hose out to the bottom of the engine to vent and it works just fine. I definitely recommend doing this.

A: both are excellent vehicles so i can only suggest that you flip a coin but also if you look around at the OLD trucks on the road you will notice that MOST of them ARE FORDS. that should answer any questions about ford quality /

And what are some good ways to clean it out? Chevy wants $600 for the part, and I do not even know for sure if it is the actual source of the problem. Truck just got whole new ignition system, from distributor, wires, plugs, cap and rotor, coil, the works, and now it runs worse than it did before the work. Rough idle, slow to accelerate, high rev when in park, hard gear shift, almost sounds like it is getting ready to stall. I am getting ready to drive it off of a cliff soon. Anyone else having this problem?? Excellent website, but doesn't have the repair book for either the Chev or GMC make........my luck of course. I don't know if it makes a difference, but it is a 7.4 l V8 K2500 3/4 ton 454................

A: YEAH I had same problem, Hold it try the 02 sensor I had the same darn thing happen to me,I replaced the wires, plugs, cap and rotor, coil &pickup coil and controll module and it still ran like cr*p when i put that new 02 sensor in ran like new for a 300K mile truck. edit.General Lee you would like this, China made part adventure? I have a 01 GMC 2500 and it has a 8ft fisher plow,I bought a new solenoid spent an half hour putting the thing in,it was N.F.G. so I took it out went got a new again and that one was nogood, I got a total of 8 solenoids before i got a good one, how does this bull cr*p happen and why dont they test them or something?I asked about this the other day and i learded to pay a little more and get a good part.

i have the torque converter complete trans an transfercase from the 96 chevy. have found that the 4l60e has 2 more pins in the computer plug than the 4l80e. but the 4l80e has an additional 2 pin plug that goes to an external sensor or switch all else appears the same

A: Won't work. You would have to change the wiring harness and computer to even get close to making it work. Also the cooler lines, maybe the linkage, etc. till you tear your hair out.

Q: 1997 Chevy suburban no start situation any techs online?
I am trying to narrow a no start situation. New fuel pump,inline filter and i have fuel at the shrader valve seems to have proper presssure. Can i spray some starting fluid into the throttlebody it is a central(sfi) type system. I diddnt chek my ignition yet due to lack of equipment with me at the time. Going to verify good spark tomorrow. I was told the car will run but seems to be starving for fuel (lack of power) no stumbling or irratic symptoms. Going by my trusty ol Haynes manual it states that "the injectors are a non serviceable item". ok fine but will it be worth my while to check the filter behind the press. regulator? Any other pert. information regarding this particular engine would be a great help to me. By the way I replaced my injectors in a 1995 Chevy Astro van with a 4.3 liter cmfi type system. Thank you for your input in advance.

A: Is the pump running? You can shoot starting fluid into the air box with some one cranking it. If it pops off you know you're having fuel delivery issues.That "non-serviceable" part is for sale at many parts stores. It is in the intake and a pretty big job.It can and has been done in the driveway so don't get too worried.If at all possible,get your hands on a GM manual. Goodluck!

A: You have an unbalanced system. Most likely you have a leak in one of the slave cylinders. This needs to be fixed ASAP, before you are driving down the road and have to stop fast and find you have no brakes..
