Q: What audio setup with a 1999 chevy suburban?
I just recently finished upgrades of the exterior, and have been finally looking into upgrading my audio system. Im pretty knowledgeable about cars and whatnot, but have no experience with audio speakers, amps, decks, etc. Mainly what im looking for is some help or suggestions into what to look into. I dont want anything too too exspensive, but at the same time dont want anything cheap either, something that I will be happy with for a while. Any suggestions, help, advice, or any personal experience or personal set-ups would be greatly appreciated.

A: if you want to bump good and not spend alot of money, check out Fi subwoofers. their entry level is even much better than kicker L7's. dont ask how i know. i currently run some of their higher end subs with some custom made options and its insane on one of my vehicles. on the daily, i only have one 18 inch btl. for an amplifier, i would recommend you either a Bxi Hifonics series amplifier, or a XXV Hifonics amplifer. they are very reliable and its the best bang for the buck you could ever find. ive also seen some of the cheap branded amps get smoked quick or dont last long. any questions, hit me up.

Q: I have a 1999 chevy suburban and bought duralast battery gold and it blew up what do i do?
i also took the battery back to autozone and they told me that the warranty doesn't cover it but i spent $100 on it and i cant get any compensation for it someone please tell me what to do?

A: i hate to say it, but you need to figure out why that battery grenaded. test the charging system out and see what your running voltage is. if it is more than 14.5, the alternator is bad.

Q: How do I program the keyless remote for a 1999 chevy suburban?

A: if it is a factory remote then try holding down the lock and unlock buttons on the remote for about 8-10 seconds near the surburban. your locks should cycle (go up and down) if this is it. the best way to tell is open the case to remote and it should say inside of it " to reset hold down lock/unlock for 7 seconds near car" hope this helps.

Q: 1999 chevy suburban starts runs great but sometimes cant get it to start?
I just took it to the shop were the fuel pump is running at 60lbs, the other day it would not start unless i sprayed it with starting fluid. So when i went back to pick it up it started fine. Mech. said computer show nothing wrong. Im not sure what would cause it to run great and out of the blue not start, then start up fine an hour later. This makes this vehicle very unrealable any ideas would be great thanks

A: first of all which motor do you have , and just because you had 60psi at that given moment doesn't mean that your pressure is going to be the same every time, the problem that I have had where I work is that the fuel pressure regulator valve goes bad and i makes the engine start hard and then other times starts real easy and I put the fuel pressure gage on the manifold and it said good pressure but when I took the vacuum hose off of the fuel press reg valve it was full of gas and that means that the gas is going by the diaphragm in the valve and letting gas right into your vacuum port, now if you have a 5.3 it's an easy fix , it is a little round valve about the size of a 50cent piece with a vacuum hose going to it and it is on the driver side on the fuel rail about in the middle , now if you have the 5.7 then it is little more complicated, you have to take the intake manifold of and the fuel press reg valve is underneath,. You might also want to check the ground strap going from the engine block to the body of the car. goood luck

Q: what kind of car should i trade my 1999 chevy suburban for?
I need something smaller but I hate cars. I am needing to save money. what do you think about the volzwagon TDI's (the diesels) or what about a nissan Altima even though everyone has one. please give me some good suggestions

A: a nissan altima is the best one. its nicer then the vw

A: YES UNDER THER PASSENGER'S SEAT

Q: How do you change a tag light on a 1999 Chevy Suburban?

A: There is a clip that holds the light in the bumper. You may need to pry the clip off. Once you get the light free, changing the bulb becomes a relatively easy process. Then reinstall the light and slip the clip back in place. Shouldn't take more than 5 minutes total.

Q: How many speakers are there on a 1999 Chevy Suburban?

A: 6,

Q: i have a 1999 chevy suburban, and my power door locks went out all of sudden.?
I checked all of the fuzes, and none of them are blown, now what should I do???? I HAVE ALREADY CHECKED THE FUZES THAT WAS MY FIRST THOUGHT TOO.... I AM ASKING BECAUSE MY FUZES ARENT BLOWN!!!!

A: I doubt all of your door lock solinoids went at one time. so maybe its a dead short on one of the wires from the fuse box into the solinoids check connections if its not the fuse. But to be on the safe side try replacing the fuse sometimes you can't tell just from looking at it. Worth a shot right?

Q: 1999 Chevy Suburban won't start?
My 1999 Chevy Suburb will no longer start. It had, in the past, started routinely although every month or so, it would not for a day or 2, then would start like nothing was wrong.. I changed the fuel pump and fuel filter, no help. The battery is good. The engine always turns, but will not catch. When I finally turn the key to the off position, it tries to cach for a second or 2, but will not turn over. It was intermittant, but now its permanent. 114,000 miles. Suburban is a 1500 model.

A: I would try renting a code reader from AutoZone, the tools rental is free as long as you return it. You should get a code that will tell you where the problem is at. Good Luck

Q: 1999 Chevy Suburban: replaced fuel pump twice in a matter of four months! Why problem with fuel pump?

A: The fuel pumps are a common problem on this generation GM from 96-99. I have a 97 with 185K and I've been lucky and had to replace my pump once at 133k. My uncle had a 97 as well, but had to replace his fuel pump 4 times over 200k. The best pump to go with is a AC Delco unit!!! Don't be getting that garbage brand from Checker/ect. I have heard that if a dealer does the pump, you may be able to get a limited warranty. Make a habit of not running the tank below 1/4. This way the pump stays submerged in fuel to cool it. Otherwise, it is just in the air, and gets hot and causes an early failure. For the last 40k miles or so, I've been adding a couple ounces of Marvel Mystery Oil to my tank with every other fill up. Don't know if it helps any, but my current pump is still super quiet, I haven't lost or gained any fuel economy (wasn't expecting to), and my truck runs great.

Q: Where do you apply the freon on a 1999 Chevy Suburban?

A: You obviously don't know how to service a/c on a vehicle. First, Freon was last put in cars in 1993. They now use R-134a, which is more environmentally friendly. Second, without the proper equipment, working on any a/c unit is not a good idea. If your Chevy suddenly quit cooling altogether, you probably have a leak in the system. These can be easy to find if you are very lucky, but more often than not, they are not visible to the eye or are audible. There are special dies that are put into the system that are only visible with a special light. If you are lucky enough to not have a leak, but just feel that it needs a little "boost", you can put a can in (if you have the proper hoses and connections), but you won't know how much to put in. If you overfill it, you could (and probably will) blow out seals or rupture a hose. Either way, you'll spend a lot more fixing it than you would if you just took it to a pro to begin with. Do it yourself is great, I like to myself, but some things require special equipment and training, and this is one of them.

Q: I have a 1999 chevy suburban...the speaker in the far back is buzzing so i am assuming its blown!! how should?
I fix this problem???? do I need to replace it? can I just unhook it?? I know, probably a very stupid question, but any feed back would be cool, the buzzing is driving me nutz

A: You may have a bad channel on the head unit. One way to test this is connect another speaker to the same channel and see if the problem is still there. If it is, bad channel, if not, bad speaker. If it is a bad speaker, you can disconnect it until you get a replacement.

Q: I Have a 1999 chevy suburban 4x4 LT 5.7 liter this am it would appears to have tranny problems HELP?
It wont shift into reverse and is sluggish to shift out of 1st. I'm thinking torque converter or transfer case. please help

A: Not the torque converter or the valve body, The problem is the REACTION SUN SHELL either broken or stripped. Very common problem with 4l60E transmission, you will also not have 2nd & 4th gears. GM has redesigned this part Here's the GM bulletin for this complaint. #00-07-30-022D: No Reverse, Second Gear or Fourth Gear (Replace Reaction Sun Shell with More Robust Heat Treated Parts Unfortunately the transmission has to come out and disassembled.
