Q: How do I find out if the key to my 2000 chevy Suburban is a "chip-key", or "non-chip key"?
Ok, my key and remote were accidentally flushed away....it's long gone and they can't be retrieved. I know the remotes are about $60 but I want to know if I can get another key made from my spare, just like any other key , or do I have to specially order from the dealer (which I'd like to avoid $$$!) because it has a security chip?
Thanks to all in advance !
A: You're in luck, your truck has a REGULAR KEY....
No chip in key
Q: how to replace a front wheel bearing on a 2000 chevy suburban?
i need to replace my front right wheel bearing? i need to know how......can anyone help me??
A: i can tell you first off if you havent done a wheel bearing before please take it to someone who does, for the reson being that you can ruin the bearing by tighting it to much or leaving it to loose or not enough grease and the seal facing the right way. to save you the head ache tak it to a shop. remember your driving on it its important! that this that you are doing is RIGHT! for the fact that your or someone elses life is in your hands.ive seen it happen to my neighbor 5 doors down from me had he asked me to do it. i would of no problem and it would of saved his butt(driving down the road wheel came off hard left-head on with f150 4x4) he's ok. now it's hands on all the time under my guidance he's learning pretty good.

Q: 2000 chevy suburban what would a malfunction in the secondary air injection system mean?
A: This a pretty vague question. I'll assume you have a "Check Engine" lite on and that's the fault code? If so, the secondary air injection system generally uses an air pump and two steel lines. One goes to the Exhaust Manifold(s), and the other to the Catalytic Converter. An electronic solenoid, controlled by the engine computer, switches the air "upstream" when cold, and "downstream" when hot. When the engine is cold, it doesn't use the Oxygen sensor and pumps extra air into the exhaust manifold(s) to help reduce emissions. When the engine warms up, and the oxygen sensor is in operation, the computer switches the air pumps' air downstream of the oxygen sensor, to the catalytic converter. The extra air in the converter helps it to convert harmful emissions to CO2 and H2O. If there is a malfunction in the system, it could pump air upstream with a warm engine, and all that extra air would cause the oxygen sensor to go full lean. Then the engine controller would dump as much fuel as it could into the engine, and emissions would skyrocket, and fuel mileage would suffer drastically. If it pumped air downstream all the time, cold engine emissions would suffer. I hope I have explained this so you understand what the system is for, and it's importance of keeping emissions down.
Sorry for such a long post.
Q: 2000 Chevy Suburban repair., please conossieurs only no internet answers. ?
Do you need to pull the transmission down, to fix the problem of code p1870. The car is a 2000 Chevy Suburban. Got this code.
A: P1870 is Torque Converter Slip (the engine is spinning faster than the transmission is).
This is usually caused by the regulator valve bore being worn out so that pressure is not as high as it should be. This could also be caused by a faulty TCC solenoid (I replaced one in my truck to remedy problem).
The transmission does not need to be removed. The valve body is accessed from the bottom be simply removing the transmission pan. Many people will tell you that the trans is shot and that you should rebuild. That decision is for you to make, do you think that you need one?
Good luck
Q: i have a 2000 chevy suburban transmission will not shift into 3rd gear or overdrive all lower gears work fine?
it was working great till on the way home it just wouldnt go into high gear or overdrive
A: Well it may be a solenoid, wiring harness,or hydraulic failure of some sort in the 3-4 clutch drum.Did check engine light come on with problem ? If so it may just be electrical.Hope that helps !
HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL ! ! !!!
Q: Ping noise in Chevy 2000 Suburban at slow speeds.?
Hi my mum has a 2000 Chevy Suburban with about 113,000 miles on it. It has never given her any problems, save a faulty alternator 2,000 miles in, covered under warranty. Recently it has been making a clearly audible PING noise when she comes to a stop or turns the car off. It happens quite randomly, probably four or five times a day. The sound seems to be coming from the underbody of the car and it sounds like a metal tank expanding, (almost as if it was compressed and it was popping out).
The performance of the car is in no way affected but we just want to make sure this isn't a hint that something will fail. Does anybody know what this may be?
A: probably the muffler shield, common problem
Q: I have a 2000 chevy suburban that vibrate when first put into reverse and back up slowly, help!!?

Q: i need a used transmission for a 1999 or 2000 chevy suburban?
A: i'd try a junk yard, although there probably won't be many suburbans there, they tend to last at least 10 years before they start showing up in junk yards, i might try a rebuild shop or something,
Q: how to reset anti theft system on 2000 chevy suburban?
A: has to be done at the dealership
Q: What is the spark plug torque spec on a 2000 Chevy Suburban?
A: You should ask a Chevrolet service department. My guess is that even the Chevrolet mechanics don't use a torque wrench, but just does it by feel and experience. I, personally, have never used a torque wrench and have had NO problems. The key is to snub them town tightly. Don't try to twist them off or strip the threads, but nice and tight. Good luck. Pops
