Q: What is a fair price for a 2003 Chevy Suburban XLT with medium high miles?
A: 15-20 thou
Q: 2003 Chevy Suburban ABS problems?
I have an 03 Suburban with less than 60k miles and suddenly the ABS light came on while driving. After getting home I turned of the engine and this hummin noise from the middle of the front axle kept going for roughly around 15-20 minutes. I read the manual and said to bring it in for service. Just wondering if anyone knows what the problem and is and how much it would cost? I would like to have some sort of idea before I bring it in for repair. Thanks.
A: Things like this are pretty hard to diagnose over this type of medium, but you can help yourself by trying a couple of things before taking it in. What I think you are hearing is the ABS pressure pump operating after the motor is shut off. That should not be happening obviously. To be sure this is what is making that noise, remove the under hood fuse box cover and locate the maxifuses. Under the cover of the fuse box is a map which tells you which fuse is which. I think these used to be a 60A maxifuse or the big fuses. Locate the one that states it is the ABS fuse or maybe the brake fuse. Then when the noise is ongoing, pull this fuse and see if the noise quits. If it does you more than likely have a module blown that controls the pump motor. This will then have to be replaced. Make sure the noise is there and you are ready to pull the fuse when it is happening. This is a very expensive part, so be sure. Most of these things were covered by at least a three year, 60000 km warranty. There might be more warranty available if you take it in to a dealer. Good luck.
Q: what is the rear popping sound in a 2003 chevy suburban?
I hear this noise while turning to the right. As soon as i start turning i hear the noise, and if someone is sitting in the third row, they say that they can hear it right under them. I've taken it to the Gm dealer a few times and twice they say that they fixed the problem by tightening a couple of bolts, but it didn't fix the problem, next time i take it in I'm going to recommend that someone sit in the third row when they test drive it to see if they can get a better idea where exactly the sound is coming from.
A: Need a little more info to help you. Is it when you accelerate or let off the gas? Is it coming out the exhaust? Does it happen when you hit the brake? Is it when you go over bumps? Is it inside the car or outside?
I am not going to bother listing reasons for all of these so post again and hopefully I can help.
Q: Low RPM's in my 2003 Chevy Suburban?
My 2003 chevy suburban has 144000 miles on it, and i have low rpm's. It's in between 0 and 1 when i'm stopped in drive, reverse and when the gear is in park. Well stopped in drive or reverse, the rpm's drop like the car is about to cut off. It has never cut off, yet. I fear that my engine is dying on me or my transmission is. Sometimes there's some hesitation in my acceleration. I have no problem starting it. There's no check engine light on, but obviously somethings wrong. What can I do? If i take it to a body shop, could they find out the problem.
A: clean the maf sensor and throttle body, also recommend taking to a dealer to get the pcm programming updated
Q: how do I reset 2003 chevy Suburban engine codes?
A: You can unhook the battery cables for a min then hook them back up. Should reset the codes
Q: Largest tires that I can Put on a 2003 Z71 Chevy Suburban?
Currently I have the stock Goodyear tires. p265/70/r17. These tires do not fill up the wheel well very well and with that size vehicle it looks a little like a pregnant roller skate. I do not want to change out the wheels, but how BIG a tire can I put on this thing to make it look a little more like a "Big Ol' Truck." Or more accurately, more "redneck?" I read about "plus" sizes and it looks like those are lower profile tires. If anyone has a z71 suburban that has gotten the bigger tires, I would appreciate a little guidance. Thanks!
A: Never owned a burb before. But, I did have a Z71 Silverado. That I ran the 285-75/16 BFG A/T's on for yrs.(three sets). Which I owned for 13yrs and up until the last set. I had had no problems w/ 'em rubbin. Then the last set kind of rubbed while makin deep/hard turns to the right. Guess the springs were startin to weaken. So, I took it to the front-end shop and had the torsion bars tweaked/cranked up. To raise the front end and therefore level out the ride height alill. In order to maintain the proper front-end alignment. After I had also, just installed a new set of Belstein shocks, btw.
Personally, I think the lower profile 70 series is the reason for the rubbing.
Good luck!
Q: What can cause a "roaring" noise in 2003 Chevy Suburban?
Suburban with 112,000 miles has developed a "roaring" noise which sounds similar to noise made by off-road tires. Noise will disappear when turning left. I purchased new tires and replaced front pads. Also had front end aligned. Nothing helped. While making any type of left turn the truck is perfectly quiet. Roaring noise is always present when going straight and a right turn does not cause the roar to disappear.
A: Worn wheel bearings.
Q: how do i replace the window regulator in my 2003 chevy suburban?
A: pretty easy job, I did a couple of regulators on a yukon a couple of years back.
just take off the door panel and get after it. the reg is fastened to the window so be careful and don't get too rough with it and risk breaking the glass.
if you have trouble try eautorepair.net for a fee you can get excellent info.

Q: On a 2003 Chevy Suburban I'm hearing a humming noise from the front diff?
a dealer says to replace the front diff, instead of rebuilding it. he now tells me he can't locate a new diff. He did a nationwide search and says no one has them available. now they want to rebuild it. do i beleive this? Or am i being taken for a ride!
A: your being taken for a ride. check the net. you'll find in part's
Q: 2003 Chevy Suburban Driver Memori?
I've just bought a used 2003 Suburban, it has the 2 driver seat position memory. How do I set these memories?
A: I had an '01 GMC pickup with power seats. If I remember correctly, here's what I did to set my seat adjustment preset...
Move the seat to the position you want, then push and hold the seat position memory button for 2-3 seconds. Your seat should now return to your preset position whenever you push the memory button.
Q: The speedometer on my 2003 chevy suburban does not always work? What should I check?
A: 2003 was a bad year for instrument clusters in suburbans and pick-ups alike. i have encountered many many of these... the speedo doesn't always work or it doesn't return to zero... and it isn't always just the speedo i have seen just about every gage in that cluster stop working .. now gm does offer a "re-flash" of the programming in the cluster and that does fix a few of them .. but other times it requires cluster replacement. either way it is pretty much a dealer required visit. i hope this helps.
Q: The parking brake release cable broke or came loose on our 2003 chevy suburban. How do I repair it?
A: Look under your car to see what happen, shouldnt be to hard spot. Leads from the pedal/brake handle to the rear brakes.
I dont know its with all chevys, but if its loose, you can tighten it up with a bolt on the wire.
If broken or over stretched, get a new one. Use a repair manual if you plan to do it yourself.
Q: where is the oil drain plug on a 2003 chevy suburban?
instead of a plug or bolt it looks like a 3 prongrd tool is used...is that correct or am i looking at the wrong thing?
A: your looking at the wrong thing......oil plug is located at the lowest section of the oil pan.
Q: I have a 2003 chevy suburban four drive when i turn on the four wheel drive i hear a light roaring sound?
coming from the left front of the truck kinda also sounds like a metal grinding sound only when i am moving
A: Sounds like it could be the CV axle. If you wanted to, you could go outside and check the CV Boot yourself, just look behind the wheel and look for a boot that's about 6-8 inches in length, with a wider opening at the wheel side, and with a metallic shaft going into the smaller side. If that boot has any kinds of rips or tears, it needs to be replaced, as will the joint inside.
Q: PLEASE HELP QUICK! Is 1335 KG or 3000 lbs a reasonable weight for a 2003 chevy suburban?
I have a Lab to do and this is the answer that i got, but i don't know if it's reasonable is it? Thanks!
A: Do you mean how much does a 2003 surburban weigh? It weighs about 5400 lbs
