Q: how do i change the headlights on my 2005 chevy suburban?
i bought those blue headlights for my 2005 suburban and i have no idea how to change them with the current ones

A: There are 2 pins next to each headlight. Once you open the hood, they will be just on either side of the housings. Just rotate them out of their clips, and lift straight up as you wiggle the light. Ease the light straight forward, and then you can twist off the bulb retainers. Just remember not to touch the bulb with bare hands. Use a clean rag or paper towel to handle them. Installation is just as simple as lining the housing back up in the rack and sliding the pins back down. Super easy.

Q: Video System for my 2005 Chevy Suburban?
I have a 2005 Suburban and would like to put in a DVD system to entertain my 6 and 3 year old children while on long trips. I would like to have the DVD receiver in the dash while the monitor (at least 10 inches) is mounted to the roof for viewing from both middle row and 3rd row seats. I was hoping to do this around $1200-1500. Any suggestions on systems? Thanks.

A: go to Best Buy They should be able to get you a system and install it for about that.

Q: How do I replace a bulb in the high brake light of a 2005 Suburban?
I unscrewed the high brake light bar from my 2005 Chevy Suburban this evening thinking that I could replace the bulb. To my amazement after unplugging it, I could find no way to open it. It appears to be a sealed unit. I took it to Autozone and they were stumped. Can I replace a bulb or does this light bar need to be replaced completely as a sealed unit?

Q: chevy suburban 2005 tire/rim issues?
my cousin bought a brand new 2005 chevy suburban with aftermarket "20 rims,it was on the vehicle when he bought it,it rubs whenever he turns or backs up,the dealer doesn't want to fix the problem, and chevy sells their own "20 stock rims,he's willing to trade back the after market rims that came on the vehicle as new per dealer for the original stock "20 rims so that it won't rub,but the dealer says no. this is a brand new vehicle, everything came from the dealer, but it seems that the dealer won't/doesn't want to handle the problem.what can he do? howcan he go about resolving this problem...it seems that chevy only wants to help you when purchasing a vehicle and doesn't want anything to do with you once you purchase the vehicle and have concerns. the vehicle is brand new, after a few weeks of driving it he noticed the problem, since then he's been back to the dealer a couple of times already but same results,if you bought a brand new vehicle and there are problems you'd be crying too...LOL! tires are the same size as the stock "20, 275/55/20, the problem is the wheel offset, the stock "20 are made for the car,the aftermarket fits but sticks a little bit too far.

A: the dealer knows as you will now that once custom wheels are mounted YOU OWN THEM ! this is why the dealer wont help- my advice is to - wait just a second ,you said rubbing when backing, right ,is that turning and backing or just straight backing because you may have a tire issue and NOT a wheel issue.I sell tires and service for a living at FIRESTONE and I hate custom wheels (i drive a 12 second 347 mustang daily with stock wheels) what size are the TIRES and find out all you can about the wheels (width, offset, bolt circle , mfg,and model#) you also said chevy offers a stock 20" wheel and tire pkg,so here comes the leg work -take all the information from the chevy pkg(tire size ,wheel width, boltcircle ,etc) and compare it to the pkg that is on the truck giving you trouble-my guess is you will find the problem is with the aspect ratio of the tire (in the size 255/40R20 40 is the aspect ratio and gives you the sidewall height) .

Q: disable chevy suburban seatbelt alarm?
Can anyone tell me how to disable my seatbelt alarm in my 2005 chevy suburban?

A: The one problem you will run into is this is part of the tone generator system. It also has several other functions.Like key in ignition warning.Headlamp on warning and other functions. If you still want this done you can stop by any chevy dealers service dept. They will remove your tone generator and you can reinstall later if you wish. You can also look under the seat next to the seat belt and unplug the seat belt connector.Best of luck.

Q: Should I be concerned about a service autoride message on my Suburban?
I have a 2005 Chevy Suburban with autoride. I have a message popping up that says "service autoride". What does that mean? Should I be concerned? How much does that kind of thing usually cost to fix?

A: Autoride is a system that adjusts your shocks' damping rates based on road surface, along with steering and acceleration rates. It also features a suspension leveling for when/if you are towing or carry heavy loads. It is usually found on the high-level trim models. I used to be a GM factory service rep and can tell you that it might be something as simple as a sensor, or more complicated like a suspension component. The best thing to do is to see your Chevy dealer (honestly). My hope is that with a '05 you are still in warranty. The dealer will know almost immediately if this is a known issue with that vehicle. If it has just recently come out of warranty, ask them to call their GM rep. 9 times out of 10 the rep will pick up a portion if a repair is necessary. Also dealers have much more flexibilty to authorize "goodwill" repairs (just ask them to "goodwill it"). Dealers are more likely to do this if you're a good service customer (oil changes, etc.) or regular sales customer. Emphasize these facts if you are. If you are within 5 years or 60K miles, many reps will also authorize repairs as if you're still in warranty. Give it a shot. Letting it go might only make a component repair worse. On the other hand, a software reflash or new sensor is very inexpensive to fix (or free if you can get to the GM rep). Hopefully this helps.

Q: Is the Chevy Suburban considered a SUV or a Statin Wagon? How?got dozens of diff answers. Guaranteed 10 points
People tell me No its a XUV (i dont know what it is),its a crosssover, its just a silverado that seats 3 times more people with a camper shell neatly welded on it, its a wagon, its a station wagon it's a coupe wagon with 4 doors............................ .......................................................................................................... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Just tell me the friggin truth and be straight about it! Hey, and while your'e at it, tell me, what's the Tahoe considered? Thanx ahead of time. And just think, in about 4 hours, I'll be free from this guilt since 2005.

A: It depends on the answer you want. General Motors calls it a Sport Utility Vehicle. It's a multi-person vehicle on a truck chassis. Though, most states will call it a Station Wagon for registration since it's a multi-person vehicle, and the only categories they have are: Truck, Car, Station Wagon, and Motorcycle. Vans are also counted in the Station Wagon category.

Q: Bucket seats or bench seats?
I am purchasing a 2005 Chevy Suburban, I have the option of bench seats or bucket seats in the back.

A: Mid-row bucket seats would give better access to the 3rd rear seat. You could walk between them to get to the seat in the back. Mid-bench is nice, but buckets there are better.

Q: Friend filing chapter 13 bankruptcy and just bought a 2007 fully loaded suburban!!!!?
Ok, I have this friend who has gotten herself and her hubby in major debt. She has since talked him into filing bankruptcy. They talked to a lawyer and have decided to file chapter 13. She had a nice Tahoe that would have been paid off in 1 1/2 yrs and he has a 2005 truck. Since they are filing on their vehicles also she decided they should just get a new vehicle so they went and traded in the Tahoe for a 2007 fully loaded Chevy Suburban, which they are planning on adding into their bankruptcy. This does not seem right to me. I thought the idea of filing was to get out of debt and to help your financial situation, how can they do this, is this legal?????

A: A chapter 13 bankruptcy enables individuals with regular income to develop a plan to repay all or part of their debts. Under this chapter, debtors propose a repayment plan to make installments to creditors over three to five years. The court sets up a payment plan and during that time you can't get credit cards or a loan without the prior approval of the trustee and/or court. So, with that in mind, they'll have to get the court to agree to add this into the payment plan and approve the purchase. I'm not sure if this can be done after the fact ... although from your message, it looks like they have ...

Q: Car insurance prices and more- 15 year old boy?
Okay, getting my learners permit pretty soon and I'm gonna need some car insurance. My mom's family is on USAA, so I'm gonna be added on to their insurance. We have a 2000ish dodge grand caravan, 2003 vw new beetle, and a 1989 volvo station wagon that we don't use much. Anyone know about what I'd pay? Plus, my parents are divorced, so does anyone know how car insurance works if I drive my dad's cars? (1999 chevy suburban, probobly most that car, 2003 chevy tahoe, 2005 nissan pathfinder). Thanks, ya'll.

Q: What do you think of the new 2007 ford expedition?
Hi, i was just looking at the new 2007 ford expedition el...and i was wondering what suv do you think looks better the 2007 expedition el or the 2005 excursion? My gf wants me to trade in my excursion for a new expedition el but i just cant get over my excursion. i test drove the expedition but it seems too small (ya the expeditions too small...lol) compaired to my excursion...and i just think the excursion looks better too. and i refuse to buy a chevy suburban!!! what do you guys think....the excursion or expedition? thanks!

A: The Excursion is a heavier duty vehicle than the Expedition in terms of payload capacity as well as physical size. Since yours is a 2005, you have the very last model year available which I'm sure you are already well aware. If it is equipped with the 6.0L diesel, just make sure you keep on top of the maintenance, with oil changes and changing both fuel filters regularly using only Ford/Motorcraft parts. If you have a legitimate use for a vehicle that size, it shouldn't give you too many problems as long as it is worked regularly. The Expedition, more specifically the EL version may be a little underpowered with only the 5.4L 3-valve V8 as the only available powerplant moving such a relatively large vehicle. With all that said, I would say just keep and maintain the Excursion. Hope this helps.
