Q: old truck trailering question?
Ok , i want to buy an old truck to tow my camper. i am looking for an old chevy suburban or pickup fro 1979-1989. i was wondering if the suburbans and the pickups of this era had about the same towing capacity. i wasn't sure because the 2008 suburban has a lower towing capacity than than the silverado. they seem like they are basically the same......also i was wondering if i would need to do anything to an old truck like that to set it up for towing besides a hitch, lighting hook up and a brake regulator. thanks.

A: I have a 1979 3/4 ton suburban with a 454...it actually came equipped with a towing package, including a transmission cooler, and maybe larger brakes, I think it's rated at 14,000 towing capacity. I would prefer towing with a suburban, since they will be a little heaver than their puck-up truck counterparts. With any older vehicle used for towing I would highly suggest making sure the brakes are in good shape, get a transmission cooler, and make sure the tires are in good shape.

Q: Third row seats of 2008 Chevy Suburban?
Can I convert the third row bucket seats to a bench? Would the brackets that attach the seat to the vehicle be the same? Thanks, I'll give it a try.

A: To get a good answer you will need to call your local chevy dealers parts dept.They will be able to find out if these seats will interchange.The seats ive seen in the third row area have different brackets between the two different seat styles .Best of luck.

Q: 2008 Chevy Suburban, GMC Yukon, or Cadillac Escalade???
My family needs a big car because our old van is falling apart. Also we need a car with 4WD or AWD. I narrowed it down to a 3 cars. Chevy Suburban, GMC Yukon, or a Cadillac Escalade. If you have any of these cars could you please tell me how reliable they are, and which one would be a better buy. Please use personal experiances when telling me so I can make the right desicion. Thank you.

A: They are all essentially the same car, I would go for the GMC Yukon Denali. It is not as flashy as the Escalade, but it still will get more attention than a Tahoe or regular Yukon.

Q: chevy suburban?
i want to get a 2008 chevy suburban. i would not be pulling anything or have more than 2 passangers. i live in NYC. but i love the looks of them. should i get it or no. plese sy why or why not. sorry i ment to say please say why or why not jetdok thats just what i want mine to look like dark black and dark tinted window. A: deff get a suburban people don't really know what they are talking about the whole gas and stuff i can go 480 miles on a tank full and still have gas i would love to see an excursion do that . i have on the best vehicle i have ever had

Q: Chevy Suburban - how is it?
We are looking at purchasing a large SUV. We will actually be using it for it's intended purpose and we have outgrown our 4 x 4 crew-cab p/up. Chevy dealer in the next town has a brand new 2008 1500 series 4 x 4 Suburban that he is literally giving away at $7000.00 below sticker. Are these good vehicles? How is GM for warranty? And FORGET the gas guzzler comments. We are fully aware of the fuel requirements for large vehicles. We've already owned two fuel pigs. GENE R --- for $7000.00 plus off sticker I'm willing to consider it. We are also looking at a Ford Expedition and a Nissan Armada. I didn't actually say I was going to buy the Chevy; did I?

A: The Suburban is great there is no other truck like it on the market, and its also cheap for maintenance too, and if you work on your own truck its also somewhat easy to service. And the motor is built proof, 4X4 is great in the snow and it tows ALLOT

i asked if i should get a 2008 chevy suburban cause they look cool. but the 2008 GMC yukon looks the same. what one is better and why

A: different badges. thats all. and a couple other things mostly cosmetic stuff like the lights and such. not much same engine same tranny. it s up to u which u like.
