Q: Any idea how much horsepower this 2000 Chevy Tahoe Limited has?
OK, this 2000 Chevy Tahoe is one of the limited made in the old body style from the 90s, its been dropped 2 inches, has K&N air induction and flowmaster cat back exhaust. Has a 350 vortec with the automatic factory tranny and the factory body kit. It's a four-door model and has light-weight aluminum rims. Any guess on the horsepower?
A: 220 horsepower is wrong answer that is the rating on 1995 and older tbi 5.7 non-vortec engine.
1996 and newer 5.7 vortec engine is rated at 255 horsepower before modifications.
Beyond that it's a guesstimate?
If you really want to know take your vehicle to a shop with dynometer,Then you know what your real BHP horsepower is after your modifications.

Q: How do I disengage electronic transmission shift lock in 2000 Chevy Tahoe?
On my 2000 Chevy tahoe (z71), occationally I can't shift transmission out of parking level. There's gotta be a override? Does anyone know?
A: There is a switch on the brake pedal. It is part of the shift interlock system(so the car won't start in Drive or Reverse and also your brake has to be depressed to engage the Transmission.) It can sometimes get out of alignment or it could have an intemittent short in it(yeah it's electrical). I would check that 1st. Good Luck

There are two rotors that fit the rear-325mm and 330mm. What makes the 5mm difference?
A: it is the width cross the surface of the rotor the parts store salesman just don't have a clue that the 325mm (325.0 x 20.0mm) rotor is for a 1/2 ton 8.6 inch rear end and the 330mm (330.0 x 29.0mm) rotor is for the 3/4 ton light duty 9.5inch rear end
Q: i have a 2000 Chevy Tahoe limited and i need to know what kind of differential comes with the vehicle?
is it a posi, limited slip, or what?
A: I believe that you would have the 10 bolt rear axle. Count how many bolts are holding on the diff cover... 10 or 14. If it is 14, then you have the semi-floating 14B. I don't think the 14B was available on the Tahoe, but I could be wrong.
As for the innards, it is either an 'open' unit, or it has the G80 option. Look inside your glovebox, there is a list of RPO codes, if you find one that says G80 then you have the factory posi-unit. If you don't see the G80, you have an open carrier.
Gearing is either 3.73, or if I remember correctly it is a 3.42 ratio.

We see the 3 levers and don't want to force anything.
A: To remove the seat, do the following:
Open the liftgate to access the controls for the 50/50 seat and enter the rear of the vehicle.
Fold the seatback forward, the seat cannot be removed unless the seatback is folded.
Unlatch the rear of the seat from the floor by pulling up on the release lever labeled 2, located next to the carrying handle at the rear of the seat.
Lift the rear of the seat up from the floor.
Squeeze the release lever to release the seat from the floor, while pulling the seat out.
While holding the rear of the seat up, roll the seat out of the vehicle.
Q: How to get a 2000 Chevy Tahoe out of "Theft Mode"?
Lost my keys. Had a LockSmith attempt to create a new key with no luck. He took off the passanger front door panel and also fooled around with the ingition. He couldnt get the ignition out to make the key. I've since went to the dealer and had a new key made but the truck wont start. All the exterior lights blink when I open the door. It attempts to crank when I turn the key but wont. Im concerned the LockSmith may have activated a "Theft Mode" which Is why the truck wont start. Please Help!
A: Just lock the drivers door, then unlock it and it will take it out of theft mode.

A: I misunderstood your previous post, you have to "lock" the seat as if it was in the truck. Follow the cables from the levers to the locks. Try to think about what needs to be done when it is in the truck.

I believe it has something to do with the belt system. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Solution to the noise?
A: loose ,old or dry belt or a bad belt tensioner so first look at belt give it a twist looks old and dry as crack its bad if its shiney its been sliping also bad... if it looks ok then might be pulley has lockup or about too belt tensioner pulley
