Q: What was/is the warranty on a 2001 Chevy Tahoe?
I own a 2001 Chevy Tahoe which I purchased new. I did not purchase an extended warranty. Recently one of the engine gaskets blew and I am in the process of paying someone to rebuild the engine. I'm wondering if it's possible that such a repair would be covered under warranty or not. I know that the standard warranties are usually 36 months/30,000 miles but sometimes drivetrain warranties are longer. Where would I find out this information? Thanks.

A: try the delaer,

Q: 2001 Chevy Tahoe, why is the fuel pump relay switch burning up and requiring replacement monthly?
Something is causing the fuel pump relay switch on my 2001 Tahoe to get so hot that it burns up and stops working, causing the truck not to start and sometimes, if it fails while driving, will cause the truck to die on the road. The block where the relay connects is melted as well. Took it to the shop for help. They replaced all relays and ran tests. Could not find any problems and sent me on my way. The truck died that night. I have squeezed the connectors down inside the base closer together to ensure contact with the relay. This allows the truck to run smooth for a week or so, and then it will begin to not start. I have replaced fuel pump and filter, air filter, and checked for any leaks. I also had it checked at the dealer, but they were lost. Any ideas as to what the problem is and how it can be fixed? At $13 apiece, these relays are adding up! This has been going on for about 6 months now. Thanks!

A: I had the same problem for two years, they just found a short in the wiring loom...these Chevrolet idiots did not even know what to look for...take it to an electrical wiring specialist like the person above said...they fixed my problem after two years and a shizzle load on money later... PS the new mechanic found a short in the line two the fuel pump...just have a specialist check it out... Good Luck

Q: Where is my fuel filter located in my 2001 Chevy Tahoe?
I'm trying to change my fuel filter and need to know where it is located.

A: The fuel filter is located on the frame rail, under the truck on the drivers side. You will have to get under the vehicle. It is on the inside of the frame rail. It will be in front of the gas tank next to the transfer case.

Q: Is 100,000 miles way too many miles for a 2001 chevy tahoe as far as reliability?
tahoe or yukon either one. I'm not looking for it to last me for the next ten years, just a good few years without any major problems. I'm used to having hondas that have lasted forever but I'm ready for an SUV. And I don't wanna hear anything about other car options I just wanna know about the tahoe or yukon. I'm not a mechanic but I know a little more than average about cars so I'm aware that it depends on how the car was taken care of and maintenance records and all that. So assuming the car had it's routine maintenance and was taken care of properly, is 80,000-100,000 miles too many miles for $10-$12k. Thanks.

A: I would not buy it. You said you had Hondas, why dont you look up for Nissan Pathfinder, Toyota 4Runner, Toyota Highlander? They might not be as big but they can be a bit more religable.

Q: What is the transmission fluid capacity on a 2001 Chevy Tahoe?

Q: How to replace 2001 Chevy Tahoe Daytime Running Lights?
I am wondering how to replace on of my DRL on my Tahoe. I am not sure how to do this, and I dont want to pay the dealership to fix it. Also, what kind of bulb does it need and where can I get it? Thanks

A: OK there are 2 L shaped metal rods on the top of the headlight assembly. Turn them and pull them up. This will allow you to take the whole headlight assembly out. Once you do that you have to look on the lower section of the assembly that houses the running light. On the side closest to the middle there is a gray plastic tab kind of U shaped. You have to push that plastic tab and then the lower section will come out. The drl is the one on the outside and is a 4157 bulb. Take out the bulb and replace it with new one. Then when you go to put the lower section back there will be two prongs on the end that must slip in before you push the U shaped tab back in. Once that is in put the assembly back and install pins and your done. For pictures look in your owners manual and you will see what I am describing

Q: What size are the rear door speakers for a 2001 chevy tahoe?

A: take the top off of the speakers

Q: Is there a replaceable or cleanable air filter for the front air conditioner in 2001 Chevy Tahoe LS?
If so, where is it located and how is it accessed? If not, how do I clean the evaporator coil?

A: Yes it is called a cabin air filter. Available at most Auto Parts stores or your local GM Dealership

Q: TAHOE~ DOeS anyoNe hAvE a 2001 cHEvY TaHoE WitH BuCkEt SeAtS In tHe MiDdLe rOw?
i want to replace my bench seats with buckets, but dont know if i can....please help. my tahoe is finally paid for and i dont want to have to buy a new one i really need bucket seats in the back middle for the kids to easily get back to the 3rd row. thanks and god bless!

A: sounds to me like replacing your bench seat with bucket seating is not only a safety issue but an expen$ive alteration. just deal with fliping 1/2 the seat down to allow access to the back by the kiddies

Q: 2001 chevy tahoe driver side window will not go up or down.?
I have replaced the motor and regulator on it twice already in the last three years with new parts. When I push the button to lower the window I can hear a click. I have also had to replace the same items on a 01 gmc yukon and a 01 gmc sierra and they are still working. Any Ideas.

A: Basically, you need to test for power and ground to the motor with the connector still plugged in to the motor. This can be difficult, but if you test in unplugged, you might misdiagnose, as I have seen faulty switches show power and ground when they are not plugged in to the motor-but then they cant support the load of the motor when they are plugged in. GM window motors on the models you have do go out commonly. An easier way to diagose it may be to tap on the motor with a small hammer or something. If the motor starts working, you almost certainly have a motor going out. Hitting it makes the contacts in the motor start contacting better - for a little while. If no power to the motor, check power to the switch, if not there either, check fuses and relays. I worked on models like yours at a dealership for 5 years (1998-2003) and those motors go out alot- definitely the most probable cause. I did see a few bad switches, but almost always the motor. They are easy to replace- just dont cut your hand inside the door- rough edges. Keep your reciept and ask what the warranty is- in case it happens again.

Q: Can I put a 2001 Yukon Denali front bumper on a 2001 Chevy Tahoe?

A: the frames are the same on both the denali and the tahoe so it should bolt right up. minor trimming might be necessary to your body, but i dont think so.

Q: I have a 2001 chevy tahoe the abs light came on and there was some kind of motor running where the brake lines
feed in under the drver seat so i unplugged the wire that is there and it quit what could that be any help would be nice thanks

A: that is called your abs system (ANTI LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM)

Q: Is it possible to replace a cloth bench seat with cloth bucket seats in the back of a 2001 Chevy Tahoe?

A: Oh, it can be done, but if you are looking for something that will just "bolt in" you may be out of luck. I recently replaced the front seats in my Motor Home... a 1983 GMC chassis... with the front seats from a 2002 Dodge Astro Van but I had to weld up a special adaptor frame to mate between the seat mountin brackets and the mounting pedestals in the Motor Home.. I would't recommend that for anyone who can't fabricate things like brackets and adaptor plates and it took 2 days to get it done right so they are crash stable.

Q: 2001 Chevy Tahoe rumble/ vibration?
I have a 2001 Chevy Tahoe, there is a vibration/ rumble at 60-75 MpH, Truck has brand new tires, new rear u-joint on rear drive shaft, and front drive shaft is good. I put on new tires and a u-joint, got alot better but is still doing this , also noticed pedal pulsation started at about the time this rumble started, sounds like coming from front end, not sure if wheel bearing or what, just had front differential replaced recently about the time this happened, a chevy dealer couldn't get a leaking front seal out. Has never been in a accident or anything like that. Any ideas whats wrong? Could it be anything with the brakes?

A: you could have a bent rim, maybe your front diff broke, are you hearing any abnormal sounds? you need to take the car in to a different shop and have them try to test it and figure it out.
