the emergency brake is not on and the car is running fine.. it turned on once months ago and went away. now months later it came back on again.

A: The ABS system has detected a fault code. You have to get the codes scanned to find the exact problem. Many auto parts stores such as Autozone and Advance Auto will scan the vehicle for you for free so you know what you're up against.

Q: Can a 2002 Chevy Tahoe tow an auto across the states from Arkansas to California through steep hills?

A: FIRST, check your owners' manual to make sure the total weight you are planning to tow is less than your truck's GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) and tow rating. Make sure that you are using an appropriate hitch setup for the trailer and tongue weight of the vehicle an trailer. Second, look at the type of vehicle you are planning to tow. A dolly or flat-bed trailer may be appropriate, as you don't want to damage the car you're pulling. I would expect a Tahoe to do pretty well pulling an average-weight car or small truck. A few pointers: - Remember that the car you are towing is relatively big and heavy (probably 3000lbs+) and that it has no braking of its own. Take it easy, especially going downhill. - Make sure you use the "OD OFF" or "TOW/HAUL" switch on your transmission. I don't know of a light truck auto trans that recommends towing with overdrive enabled. - Allow extra time, you won't be able to fly through the mountains like you normally would. Take it easy and you should be fine.

Q: cheapest way to fit 35s on a 2002 chevy tahoe?
i'm gonig to buy some 17inch wheels and i'm getting a good deal on some pro comp 35" tires the question is can i get a 3inch body lift and then get a torsion twist and get 2 more inches and fit ti to my car... my friend use to have them on a 01 chevy silverado and thats what he did... could i do the same thing? so far this is the cheapest way of donig things and i need it to be cheap...can anyone help?

A: alright first the torsion bar tightening will cause you tires to rotate about the axis so that tread wear will all be on the outside. bad idea. i did that to my sierra and ruined a perfectly good set of tires. i then bought the readylift torsion key kit and for some reason it didnt do that at all. i still dont get why but it worked. this will run you about $230 maybe 225 but somewhere around that 230 mark.. the rear is the problem. if you have leaf springs you are all set. if your tahoe, like i fear, has coil springs then you might run into trouble.. for the leafs you will need a small lift block for the rear springs, and if you got adventurous, then you could get a longer shackle. or you could get 3/4 ton truck springs and do the same to get more clearance, ride wont be affected too much, but with either of these along with the front you should replace the shocks or they could blow really easily (happened to me blew 2 within days of doing the mods). i am sorry about the coil springs, for i have nothing to help you with. i had to trim the rubber in the front wheelwell because it rubbe on one spot, but i had no clearance issues after that

Q: How much is the fuel pump for a 2002 Chevy Tahoe?
Thanks..

A: The original pump from GM will cost a bit over $500.00 Also, any place that requires a core is selling you a rebuilt Pump. I suggest you avoid a rebuilt pump. You can purchase New aftermarket pumps at your local parts store. Airtex pumps seem to be good quality and way less expensive then a OEM one from the dealer. Be sure to install a new fuel filter when replacing the pump.

Q: Chevy 2002 Tahoe 2wd conversion to 4wd?
I am looking it turning the 2002 chevy tahoe 2wd to a 4wd. What do you need? Where can I get the parts? How much would it cost?

A: Dude...you are much better off trading your SUV in instead of this pricey and very labored work!! You will have to switch out the rear axle and also upgrade the suspension system to carry the additional load and torque...its very, very expensive to add this option afterwords......You would have to spend on low end $3500-4500 just for parts not including labor and on high end your range will be $5500-6500.....I recommend not to explore this option and trade your vehicle in ...really!!
