Q: Chevy Tracker?
I have a 2001 Chevy Tracker with only 20,000 miles on it (actually bought it from my grandma lol).
The problem is that sometimes (I've noticed more often in the rain) it does this thing where once I ease my foot off the accelerator to let it coast I feel a little "kick" and the speed starts going down dramatically.
Usually when I let my foot off the accelerator on the highway it will go down maybe 1 mile in 3 seconds.
When it's acting up, it will go down 10 miles in 3 seconds and there's actually the physical sensation that something's stopping the car.
I have no idea what this could be, I only drive basically one road and I wasn't going uphill or downhill during any of this.
I recently got my car inspected and they found nothing wrong...I didn't mention this though.
Does anyone know what it might be, how much it would cost to fix it?
A: It may be a simple fix such as brake pads...if the pads are rubbing, it would stop your car even in gear.
Q: Can you put a chevy tracker engine in a chevy blazer?
the chevy tracker engine is a 2004 and its suzuki motor; and i was wondering if i could take it out and put it in a 95 blazer .. would it need just a few modifications or is it even possible?
A: No. As you stated the tracker, along with the engine, is not GM except the Emblem.
Q: Is it worth installing an air conditioner in a 2000 Chevy Tracker?
I'm thinking about buying a 2000 Chevy Tracker but the only downside of this car is that air conditioning was never installed. I am willing to pay for it to be installed but I know nothing about the process and am just wondering if it's even worth it. Thanks.
A: Kimby Sounds like a great idea.You should talk to your local Chevy dealer and see if the parts dept can get the factory AC system for this tracker.This system will work really well and have no problems like the aftermarket systems do.The factory systems are worth the money.The dealer can give to the price for parts and labor.Best of luck with your choice.
Q: When can I find an inexpensive hard top for a 1999 chevy tracker?
I am looking for a hardtop for my 99 chevy tracker. The cheapest one I have found was $895 plus extra for the sliding window. I think that I can do better but I dont know how.

failed inspection because of code po135 indicating B1S1 O2 heater circuit malfunction. I am looking online for the part & need to know if it's before or after Catalytic Converter in a 2000 chevy tracker? Is this an easy self change? Will I need any 'special' tools? Thanks!
A: It's the one before the converter. Depending on how much room you have, you may need a special tool. Auto Zone rents them out for free (a deposit is refunded in full).
Q: does ne one have a 1998 ish chevy tracker or similar with a blown motor?

A: dexron 3, or now they make multi vehicle fluid that is universal, look on the dipstick it should tell you, or in your owners manual.

There are times when I would like to turn off the headlights, like at a drive-in movie and still have the engine running for heat or defroster. My Tracker has ALC and DRL.
A: If you push the button with the light icon on it three times, your running lights will turn off.
Q: How hard is it to change an Oxygen sensor on a 2001 Chevy Tracker?
The mechanic wants to charge $500+ to do it and says the part is around $220. This seems high and I'm tempted to try and change it myself. However I'm new to this stuff so I was wondering what the difficulty level is. I know on standard vehicles it is supposed to be pretty straight forward, but my Tracker is 4CYL/4WD. Does this make it more difficult and that is the reason for the $300+ labor fee? Any help is appreciated.
A: Go to the Chevy parts counter and ask to see the oxygen sensor. I've never heard of one costing that much. It can be located in the exhaust pipe very close to where it's bolted to the exhaust manifold. In your case they may need to disconnect many things to get at it. If you don't get a good answer there, try Car Quest, NAPA or Advance Auto in that order. Car Quest and NAPA sell exhaust systems ask to see the primary pipe and it'll show where the sensor is. Q: Where can I buy a dipstick to replace the one that broke on my 2000 Chevy Tracker?
The little ring on the top broke off. Someone said they made them really cheap on the Tracker. My husband is trying to glue the top back on, but I told him surely you can buy a replacement. Any ideas?

the dash lights and radio dont work in my tracker and i dont have a manual so how can i find a picture to see which fuses are which?
there is no cover on the fuse box either and i really dont want to go and get a book at the store is there a website or something that i could go to?
A: go into your local gm dealer and talk to the service dept. manager if he/she is a good person they can get you a photocopy of the fuse page or even a new owners man. peace and good luck.
Q: How do you replace the headlight bulb in 03 Chevy Tracker?
The back of the headlight does not screw or pop off, it has a rubber cover. I figured out how to unplug the wires, just need to take out the old bulb and put in the new.
A: The halogen bulbs are push in. Check for a spring clip at the base of the bulb that locks it in.
