A: just 2 candid is right it is a shift pattern, in most cars they start at 1st in the extreme left/up 2nd is extreme left/down 3rd is center/up 4th is center/down 5th is right/up and reverse is right/down

Yes it has the protector on it but how do you take that off? lol
I have to reach up underneath the handle of my rear door and can't get it off to save my life.
A: It most likely has a protective frame over the bulb itself. once you get that off, PULL the bulb out. DO NOT UNSCREW it. The license plate lights do not screw in and out like normal bulbs. you just pull the old one out and pop the new one in.
Q: Where is the relay for the automatic light control sensor on a 2002 chevy tracker?
My daytime running lights wwork but at night the lights don't work, even when I turn on the switch. I'm boggled. Someone please help.
A: The sensor is in the upper right dash.
The control module for Non-Keyless entry trucks is under the dash to the right of the steering column, held in by 1 bolt.
The control module for Keyless entry trucks is in the same spot as non keyless entry but is mounted to the doorlock receiver.
The headlamp relay is located in the drivers junction block.
The circuit description says if ground is provided to the DRL module from the sensor than only DRL operation will occur. If the ground is received from the headlamp switch, the parking brake, or the alternator (when not running) the DRL's are disabled.
If the DRL module is bad and not grounding through these other components your concern could happen.
Beyond that it gets a little complicated to diag. Hope that helps.
Q: Does anyone know where the spark plugs are located on a 2002 chevy tracker v6 with 2.5 liter engine?
Im needing to change my spark plugs before I go out of town saturday and can't find where the spark plugs are at.
A: they are located under the center of the valve cover, they do not have plug wires runing to them becouse it is a "coil over" system..... good luck if you need anymore help just message me
Q: Why do my high beams work but not my low beams. This is on a 2002 Chevy Tracker.?
My high beams are all the lights I have at night, but the daytime running lights come on like they're supposed to do.Are the high beams used in connection with the daytime running lights through a resistor? If so them the low beam lamps could be bad. How do I check just the low beam lamps?
A: You could have a blow fuse to the low beams.
It is very possible for you too burn one low beam out, and less then 5 seconds later burn the other one out. Due to the voltage surge.
Q: What could be causing my 2002 Chevy Tracker to be squeaking when at a stop or running?
It is coming from the front end- to middle of the vehicle, wet or dry conditions.
A: Suspension bushings cause squeaks. You may be able to grease them but usually they need to be replaced.

Q: window on my 2002 chevy tracker?
I have a 2002 chevy tracker. A couple days ago the drivers electric window will go all the way down when pushing the button to open it and will only go half way up on it's own when closing it, and you need to pull it the rest the way to closed with you hand. For a few weeks before it started doing this it was operating properly but made a squeeking noise. I do not think the motor has gone out yet on the window, but the dealer say they want around $400 to fix it by replacing the motor. How many of the rest of you with trackers have had window trouble?Any of you mechanics out there ,what do you think it wrong with the window? Thanks
A: Sadly, it's probably the motor.
If you wait a little while (not pushing the window button) when it stops will it start going again when you push the button? If that's the case than the thermal cut-off on the motor is kicking in and the motor probably needs to be replaced.
These motors are quite difficult to get to without the right tools and can be a real pain to replace. $400 sounds a bit high, but I wouldn't expect any less than $250.
Now that I re-read your post, the estimate from the dealer is probably so high because it's a dealer, not a garage. Take the car to a nice little garage to have it done, it'll cost less.

A: several possible problems....
Most likely you have bad fuel injectors which need to be cleaned... this can be done rather cheaply at a quick lube location... i know Valvoline Instant Oil Change does it for 69.99... i know cause i used the service once...
Also you can have a cylinder misfiring which is either do too bad fuel injectors or bad spark plugs/plug wires or both... i suggest the fuel injection cleaner first and then replacing spark plugs and spark plug wires... if neither of these services has been done... then you are definately due to have them done...

A: I have a 2000 tracker 4 dr and have not had any problems with it other than the heat shield that goes over the catalytic converter. It started to rattle and the garage said it was the catalytic converter which was a factory replacement at over $800. with labor.. a simple hose clamp to tighten the heat shield and away you go no more noise. A couple of pwople i know had this one. and other than that just gas milage!!!!
Q: 2002 chevy tracker pas side floor full of water...its not raining either!?
Recently The floor boards of my tracker have begun to accumulate alot of water. Its only on that side and I live in a warm dry climate. I suspect it maybe an A/C drain clog, but cant locate anything suspecious...well to me anyway. Has anyone had this problem? Any ideas or suggetions as to how I can fix this? Thanks ahead of time for your input.
A: I had the same issue, what i found was that the air conditioner drain tube sticks thru the firewall into the engine compartment. You can stick a wire into it to make sure it is not plugged, but what was happening on mine, was the water was draining out but the tube was at a slight upwards angle, causing the water to flow on the outside of the tube back thru the firewall and into the passager compartment. There was only a foam seal at the firewall. I used silicone caulk around the drain tube, on the outside(engine compartment side of the firewall) and it stopped all the moisture issues inside.

does not matter what you do it just comes on. the garage says that the gas cap is not on rite is this true
A: The gas cap not being closed all the way can ABSOLUTELY DEFINITELY make a check engine light come on. I have seen this very many times. The garage is not lying to you. You need to have your car serviced and make sure you always fasten the gas cap completely and make sure it is tight, or this will happen again.
