Q: Anyone out there own a Chevy Uplander? How do you like it?
Thinking about making the crossover to full mommy vehicle. I am wondering if anyone owns a Chevy Uplander? If so... how do you like it? I need awd where I live and the spaciousness of a mini-van. (I never thought I'd EVER own one... lol) I test drove an Uplander and it drove very simular to an SUV but looks like it gets much better gas mileage. Decisions... Decisions...

A: i have one. it is an absolutely awesome family van, high gas milage, controls great, and if you buy an LS, there is a backup sensor that tells you if you are about to hit something, and it has a dvd player for your kid(s) oh, an you answered my question, too

Q: Why would the check engine light come on in my 2005 Chevy Uplander?
I was driving to work and the check engine light just came on, no indication why...also the last few times I filled up with gas the gage continued to say empty and 'low fuel' was displayed on the panel, even when the tank was not empty when I filled it to begin with. It goes back to full after about a day and a half....any ideas on what could be wrong would be wonderful, thanks.

A: It's difficult to determine the exact cause for the check engine light without having the codes pulled. However, because of your fuel gauge malfunction it's almost certainly the sending unit that's failing and sending a diagnostic code to the PCM triggering the check engine light. The sending unit itself is located on the top of the tank or worse yet, inside the tank. It won't be cheap or easy to repair but it also won't cause any problems with performance, etc. It is however something you will want to have checked out. Left unattended another vehicle function could fail without any notification. The check engine light is not specific and the PCM (vehicle computer) could be holding more than one failure code. Without the sending unit repaired you'd never know if something else "threw" a code. Take it to your local auto parts store first and ask them to pull the codes for you. Most parts stores will do this at no cost to you and will hand over a printout with the diagnostic codes stored and their descriptions. With printout in hand you'll have a much easier time diagnosing and for that matter getting it fixed at the proper pricing level. Hope this helps.

Q: What's the noise in my 2005 Chevy Uplander front end?
I have been noticing a bumping noise in the left front of my van. I removed the left front tire to inspect the suspension. The only thing I found was the left axle does move slightly laterally and up and down. This movement does seem to produce the noise that I hear when driving the vehicle. The van has 60000 miles on it and has not been wrecked. I am the original owner.

A: need more information

Q: I have a 2005 Chevy Uplander with 48 000km. We are told the front and back brakes and rotors needs replacing?
Is this the normal life expectancy for both these parts. Keep in mind we city drive and have small children so we are not driving crazy.

A: NO IT IS NOT --------SOUNDS LIKE THERE TRYING TO RIP YOU OFF THE PADS SHOULD LAST 50,000 - 75,000 MILES -----YOUR 48,000 KM IS ONLY AROUND 30,000- MILES --THE ROTORS SHOULD LAST CLOSE TO 100,000 MILES OR 162,000 KM -------YOU NEED TO LEARN HOW TO DO YOUR OWN WORK AND THIS IS A EASY JOB TO LEARN ON -------GET A GOOD REPAIR MANUEL AND DON'T BE RIPPED OFF AND SAVE MONEY .

Q: How safe is the built in child seat in the chevy uplander 2006?

A: Is it one of the harness type seats? I had those in my Dodge Caravan a couple of years ago. I went to a seat-belt safety check and they said they were very safe except if the seat was reclined. Also don't put a child under one year old. Warning: Once we arrived somewhere on the other side of town and the buckle unstrapped but would not pull out to get my son out. We had to call the police and they cut the belt. He was 18 mos. old and very scared. Turned out something had broke inside the seat. We had to go buy a car seat to get home. Manufacture paid for everything. Including the car seat we had to buy. There was a recall on the seats shortly after our incident and both were replaced. We never had that problem again. Over all I loved them over a normal strap in seat. The other problem I had was that the normal shoulder strap was still up in the air so I got pulled over twice because the cop thought they weren't strapped in. As irritated as I was, I would thank them for looking out for kids.

Q: 2006 Chevy Uplander van - at idle, a bit rough and lights flicker?
I just got this new van last night, and didn't purchase the extended warranty. At idle, the van feels rough, kinda like it vibrates when it idles and the interior lights flicker some. The voltage gauge reads 14.6 volts charging on the battery. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

A: Check your voltage regulator. It could be sending 14v to battery but not to ignition system causing a rough idle when alternator is not under load. Also make sur wires are connected good, moisture free and grounds are good.

Q: what can I do to reset the message ALL WHEEL DRIVE DISABLE on my 2006 chevy uplander LT?
i'd like to know what could be the problem, thanks.

A: try disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes then reattach.

Q: Where is the interior fuse box on a 2005 Chevy Uplander?
I need to program a keyless remote and I've been told to remove a certain fuse from the interior fuse box to do this. My owner's manual doesn't show where the box is and I have looked all over the front interior of the vehicle and can't find it.

A: The fuse in question should be either on the back side of the firewall underneath dash. On the driver's side down by where the steerin column goes thru the floorboard. Or more than likely it's on the side of the dash. Where the driver's door covers it when it's closed. Open the driver's door and look @ the edge of the dash. You should see a small door on the egde of the dash. That you can open to gain access to the fuse panel. The link below is for the re-programmin of the FOB. Just in case, you need alill help w/ the procedure. Good luck!

A: The 2008's have an ipod/mp3 player jack...for 2005-2007, you'll need to shell out about $150 for an ipod adapter kit that gets hard wired into the factory GM radio.

Q: Can we comfortably fit 4 adults, 1 nine year old and a few suitcases into a Chevy Uplander?
My family and I are doing a two week road trip around the great Northwest this summer. We're flying into Seattle and then driving/ferrying around. There are four large adults and one large ten year old boy, along with probably three large suitcases and five small duffels. I've remted us a Chevy Uplander - can anybody tell me - will this be large enough?

A: yes. the uplander is a new style venture van, also known as minivans,

Q: Are there different body sizes to the Chevy Uplander?
The 2007 Chevy Uplander to be more specific.

A: There was two length sizes however the shorter was mostly for cargo/work vans. The way you tell the difference is to look behind the third row seat. In the short model it will have no room at all.

Q: Do the seats in a Chevy Uplander fold down?
I'm renting a '08 Chevy Uplander at the airport. Do the seats fold down in this vehicle?

A: The third row seats fold down and can also be removed. The second row can be folded as well, but if the vehicle is equipped with the side seat mounted air bags the back rest is the only part that will fold down. If it doesn't have the air bags then they can also be flipped up.

Q: How do you disable the airbag on a Chevy Uplander?
We need to know how to disable the passenger-side airbag on a 2006 Chevy Uplander. We can see an off/on indicator on the dash, but it doesn't appear to be a control button. This is a rental car and did not come with an owner's manual.

A: It cannot be disabled except by the dealer and after you have signed papers (as the owner). The light on the dash simply lets you know if the airbag unit is activated for the passenger seat. It is not activated if there is no weight in the seat
