Q: Why would the check engine light come on in my 2005 Chevy Uplander?
I was driving to work and the check engine light just came on, no indication why...also the last few times I filled up with gas the gage continued to say empty and 'low fuel' was displayed on the panel, even when the tank was not empty when I filled it to begin with. It goes back to full after about a day and a half....any ideas on what could be wrong would be wonderful, thanks.
A: you have a faulty fuel level sensor in the fuel tank. the code is for low voltage probably. your fuel tank will have to be lowered and a new level sensor installed. are you still under warranty? 3yrs/36000 miles is the warranty.
Q: Can anyone tell me the average gas mileage & other comparisons on a Pontiac Aztec compared to a Chevy Uplander
They both are 2005 models. Also I wonder if there are any recurrent problems with either vehicle.
A: http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/findacar.htm
Go to that website, choose your make, model, year - and presto. You have your answers.
I would have dont it, but the link doesnt change so you have to do a little work. This is the best answer though
Q: How important are side curtain airbags?
My family and I were in a car accident a couple of weeks ago. The airbags deployed, and the car is totaled. Now we are looking to replace our minivan, but neither of the cars we are looking at (a 2005 Buick Terraza with 31,000 miles on it or a 2006 Chevy Uplander with 77,000) have side curtain airbags. The back will primarily carry my 7 year old son in a car seat and my 11 year old daughter. Is it really important that these cars are lacking these??
So which car would you go for??
A: You can find the answer here:
http://www.safercar.gov
The site has all of the information you need to make an educated choice.
I would not buy either car. I don't trust the reliability of American makes. Find a nice used Toyota or Honda.
Q: Can an overhead rail system (dvd player) be switched from one vehichle to the another?
The dvd system is in a 2005 Chevy Uplander and we are wanting to buy a 2004 Ford F150 Lariat it has the rail system but no dvd player. If we can switch it back and forth from the van to the truck that would be Great!
A: I wouldn't try it myself. I would get proffesional help if I was going to try something like that. You should consider looking at portable dvd players that are basically the same thing, but they are portable, and you plug them into a cigaret lighter.
Q: Chevy Equinox or Chevy Uplander?
I am having a hard time deciding on a 2005 Chevy Equinox or a 2007 Chevy Uplander. I need to get a car with better gas milage then my Suzuki XL-7 and I cannot stand Malibu's. Which out of these 2 would be better. I do not have a big family. Just me my husband, and son......but we do travel a lot and constantly going to games that my son plays.
TYIA!
A: the equinox gets better gas mileage, and looks a whole lot better. the uplander's probably still in warranty, but that's a large vehicle for 3 people. you may even want to consider an impala, they're roomier than the malibu, and get better mileage than either the Equinox, or the Uplander.
Q: i have a chevy uplander 2005?
i wanna add a amp n s sub how can i do that with out brokon anything do i need buy a new radia or what do i need help
A: Do you have a CD Player? If you do NOT have a CD Player. Go Somewhere around you area such as like a Sound Crafters or some shop that installs systems and just ask them, Hey how/what do I do if I don't have a CD player in my car. I had mine done professionaly so I don't know! Just giving advice hope this helps a little! You do have to buy wires from the store it usually comes in a kit just look for it! You will find it!!! Theres a Red Wire, Goes to your Battery, A brown or blue wire and a couple of other wires that come with it! Good Luck! Oh and you can find it for cheap at Wal-Mart! =) That's where I bought mine!
Q: Is 70,000 miles alot on a 2005 Chevy Uplander?
A: yes it is,that's way too many miles for that vehicle to have on it,it will hurt the sale of it more than anything, its probably a real good vehicle, but that's way above the average in miles for any vehicle to have on it,good luck with it.
Q: what is the top speed of my 2005 chevy uplander le?
sorry, its an ls
A: Floor it and find out... depending on condition of the vehicle and engine as well as other factors yours may have a better top speed than someone else with the same make/model/year.
Q: 2005 Chevy Uplander- review, do you own one?
I am looking at purchasing a 2005 Uplander. It has 70 thou kms on it, the body is in perfect shape, and I like the style of it. I am test driving it tonight, but wanted some feedback on any issues owners of this vehicle have had. I don't know much about cars, and don't want the dealer to say it's a perfect van if it has some issues. I have read a lot of reviews on it and it seems split about 50/50 for people loving it or hating it!
We have 2 kids, one in a booster seat and one in a car seat, and a large dog- does this van have the room, do you think? I wish it had stow n go seating like the Grand Caravan we drove and liked, but I really really prefer the style of the Uplander (may be as "cool" of a van that I can find, lol)...and the dealer is a chrysler jeep dodge dealer who is very reliable-- and the van is only $11 900!!!
Help me out and give me your tips about the Uplander!!
Thanks!
A: just click here, anything you want to know

and not just the uplander, this site is good for any car review
Q: is there a mini-jack input on a chevy uplander 2005?
i am trying to listen to my ipod mini via my car sterio (without paying move than $40). i purchased a monster icable for car and i cannot find a mini-jack - does anyone know if chevy uplander 2005 came with one - or where is it?
A: It didn`t
Q: 2005 Chevy Uplander A/C Fails?
Intermittently, the A/C of my 2005 Chevy Uplander turns off and blows normal fan air. Also, on occasion, the air output will change from dash air to floor air. This seems pretty random, but we can go days with no A/C before it starts working again. The dealership has looked at it numerous times to say, "We don't see any problems. Works for us."
A: I have been having the same problem. I took it in this weekend and while they couldn't find anything wrong, they said there was an updated controller program that they loaded which is supposed to address this sort of issue. They didn't charge me anything, not sure if that's because it's still under warranty or not. I would call and ask about the new software load if I were you.
Q: I have a 2005 Chevy Uplander, the headlights flicker on occasion?
The headlights flicker on occasion, it has happened about 2-3 times since we bought it, (we bought it new). The interior lights also flicker, not the dashboard lights, the overhead lights. I am wondering what could be causing this? I do not think that there is any particular thing that occurs right before the lights flikcer. The one time that I really remember the head lights doing this, I was applying my brakes to slow so I could make a turn. Thanks for the advice/input in advance.
While I like a sense of humor, I really am looking for a reason to this problem.
(o.k. I agree on the 'not made in the USA' thing)
A: hmm. it could be a variety of things.
i serisouly doubt its the alternator. but you never know. especially if you have abs. because that's an electonical part, so that could cause your voltage to go up, which means the car cancels out the not important stuff to keep her movin' if that makes any sense.
It could be fuses. Those are easy to replace. You'll find em under the dashboard close to the floor.
um. that's all i can think of besides maybe you're car just has personality. =]
But you can get a voltage test done at advance or auto zone for free. to see if there are any electitrical probs.
hopefully this helps
Q: 2005 Chevy Uplander: DVD and radio at the same time?
Does anyone know how we can listen to the radio while the kids listen to the movie playing in the DVD through cordless headphones? The headphones came with the van, but we can't find instructions on how to do this. Any help would be appreciated.
A: Sue please stop by your local chevy dealers service dept. They will show you what to do to listen to your radio while the rear dvd player is on.Best of luck.
